Matthew Licavoli grew up believing in the power of the American dream; his grandfather, a holocaust survivor, opened a gas station and made a successful, honest living for his family. The values of hard work and ethical behavior were instilled in him at a young age. But growing up just outside of Detroit, Matthew learned the harsh reality that many blue-collar workers, the backbone of America, often suffer injustices that prevent them from achieving their own dreams.
Motivated by a strong desire to fight for the underdog, Matthew enrolled in law school and began working for the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission in the inaugural year of its Injured Workers Benefit fund. He played an instrumental role in the success of the fund, which gives injured workers a voice, providing financial assistance to those whose employers are uninsured.
Today, Matthew protects the rights of injured workers as an Associate in the Workers’ Compensation department of the Ankin Law. He informs clients of their rights and secures the benefits owed to them for their work related injuries. Matthew grew up watching less fortunate people struggle to get by without the benefits they deserve. As an attorney, he finds solace in advocating on behalf of Ankin clients so they may pursue their own American dream.
In his leisure time, Matthew enjoys traveling, golf, tennis and spending time with his family and friends.
